Energy Policy Dilemma
[ send me this essay ]
A 6 page paper discussing US energy policy. Can fossil fuel electricity generation be sustained for generations? No. Then we need alternatives. Will there be oil available to fuel the world's cars in four generations? No. Then we need alternatives. We need to be cognizant of businesses' bottom lines. They cannot operate in perpetual loss; we need to take a larger view of the true costs of both action and inaction. The concept of the "triple bottom line" – cost effectiveness now, cost effectiveness later and whether an action is sustainable for the future – is valuable in determining which course of action needs to be made now. All we have to do is convince our politicians – of both parties – to use its logic. Bibliography lists 5 sources.

Engaging Americans In The War On Terrorism
[ send me this essay ]
4 pages in length. Engaging citizens to support and participate in the war on terrorism from a local level is not a difficult objective if the general public backs the fundamental principle behind the battle, which is the case in most global societies. However, when the country's populace not only condemns the reason(s) why the nation went to and remains at war but also distrusts the intent of its own leader, working toward drawing those same individuals into the war effort is a losing proposition. American citizens represent the second scenario where the current war on terrorism is concerned, with public participation at every level a scant percentage of what it is in other countries fighting the same war. One need only look so far as the Vietnam War to understand the difficult task of engaging Americans in a war they do not support. Bibliography lists 4 sources.
