Laser in Situ Keratomileusis or “LASIK”

It is the most promising and most effective surgical correction for poor vision currently available. With the LASIK procedure, the surgeon uses a razor-like instrument to gently lift a flap of the patient’s cornea and then uses a laser to reshape the area that has been exposed. That process of reshaping causes the way the eye focuses light to change.
