Coming to terms with potentially blindness is not an easy task, no matter if one is in adulthood or at the onset of old age. For the elderly, the aspect of diabetic eye disease presents a dual meaning, in that on the one hand it means life without vision, while on the other it indicates yet another indication of the body's desire to shut down for good.
