Early in the century, pathologist Louis Alzheimer first discovered and described the neurofibrillary tangles and amyloid plaques consistent with the presence of the disease. The paper presents descriptions of both neurofibrillary tangles and amyloid plaques along with popular theories of their formations and possible physiological treatments.
