"Leading With the Heart": A Review of the Book by Mike Krzyzewski

Six-time heralded as National Coach of the Year, Duke University's basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski is one of the most successful coaches in history. Kyzyzewski is more than a coach, however, his talents with sports figures have been successfully turned to many other arenas of life as well one of which is "Leading With the Heart: Coach K's Successful Strategies for Basketball, Business, and Life". This book is an insight into the many philosophies which Coach K has gained over the years regarding the importance of leadership, overcoming life's adversities, individual instinct, and individual and organizational responsibility. Critical to this process is are five fundamental qualities: communication, trust, collective responsibility, caring, and pride; qualities which "Leading With the Heart" illuminates as do few other motivational books.
