[ send me this essay ]
A 7 page paper
discussing changes in the American Institute of Architects' (AIA) model contract

contractor than did their predecessors. The recent changes in the AIA's model contract
documents do give the owner greater control. A general contractor can be terminated as a
matter of choice or even whim, but the owner cannot take such action without incurring
any costs at all. Though the general contractor can be terminated more easily, he still has
a right to expect payment for work completed. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
